For this year's RSECon we brought back our popular Kubechaos workshop, now in its third iteration. If you haven't attended the workshop before, it takes you through the deployment of a randomising web app, i.e., 'kubechaos', on a local Kubernetes cluster using minikube. We also look at Helm charts for pre-configured deployments, using the 'mocktail' application, which is useful for testing HTTP requests, as an example.
The workshop ran on 10th September at the Wave in Sheffield and was delivered by Alex, Piper and Lewis, with help from Dr Colin Sauze of the National Oceanography Centre. Colin had added new troubleshooting steps for installation on Linux systems to the lesson material, which found use almost immediately! Around 30 people joined us, with more attending online in the hybrid event. Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to a very engaging Q&A session.
Looking ahead, we have exciting plans to develop new lesson material, and we'll soon have news on the SIG's ratification, so stay tuned. Our mailing list and website remain the best way to keep up to date. If you're interested in joining us, you can also now find our contact details on the contact-us page of the website.
If you missed the workshop or want to revisit the material, the online version is available at rsecon26-intro-to-kubernetes.
